Inside a Volume

A few weeks ago my flash piece”Outside” was published by Pidgeonholes. And now it’s being collected on their Vol. 4: Kintsugi.  I’m very excited about this since it’s the first time one of my stories is collected somewhere.

This is a very personal story for me, I wrote it thinking of my father and how he used to sound. I don’t remember his voice but I do remember that when he sneezed it was like a cat meowing. I still hear that sometimes.

I specially like the title of this Volume. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing a broken piece of pottery with a precious metal, like gold or silver. It’s an excellent reminder that we all break and we can all be mended. Finding beauty in this is also part of how we heal.
